Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519), a true Renaissance man, never established a permanent museum dedicated to his work during his lifetime. His legacy, however, has inspired countless exhibitions and institutions worldwide. The idea of a museum celebrating his genius truly began to flourish in the 20th century, culminating in the establishment of the National Museum of Science and Technology in Milan, inaugurated in 1953.

Our special exhibition in Venice, though not a permanent branch of the Milanese museum, draws inspiration from its comprehensive approach to Leonardo's diverse contributions.
